Vimochana’s work involves recrafting spaces of alternative thinking and new imaginaries through intercultural dialogue. The Open University is one such initiative. The programme endeavours to create a safe space that is non-hierarchical, non-patriarchal and one that encourages all suppressed subaltern voices to be heard and understood. We aim to give the process of knowledge gaining back to students and let them drive conversations.

Through this Open University, we render space, for critical thinking and creative learning that seeks to connect scholars, activists, visionaries, artists, poets, students and any free-spirited mind, open to learning.

With this methodology, the Open University proposes to increase the culture of scholarly activism: people in civil society who will connect the praxis of their everyday life with their visions; their hearts with their minds, and the personal with the political.
